Taiyuan is the capital of Shanxi Province, and located in the central of Shanxi Province. The meaning of Taiyuan is very flat area. The mountains stayed at North of Taiyuan, West of Taiyuan and east of Taiyuan, and the Fen River just flow through the city from North to south, and this part is beautiful park, we call it Fen river park. -Jinci Temple

Jinci Temple is not far from Taiyuan city, 30km far from Taiyuan downtown, need about 40 minutes driving. It is famous for the Song dynasty building-Saint Mother Hall, and the 1000 years old colorful sculptures.

It is garden style temple, Ming dynasty stage, Song dynasty iron statues, and archway etc. You need about 2 hours to visit Jinci Temple.

Because of Jinci Temple and Qiao Family Compound is not far from each other, so we usually arrange the Jinci temple and Qiao Family Compound tour together as a Taiyuan day tour from Taiyuan or from Pingyao.

-Shanxi Museum

Shanxi Museum is the national level museum. It is worth to visit when you are at Taiyuan. If you only have a half day at Taiyuan, this is the best choice for your to know the Shanxi history. Anyway it is free to visit, just need book the ticket at official account of wechat.

You can see the Bronze ware, Porcelain, Painting etc. Please notice, not open on Monday.
