The city of Datong is one of the famous historical and cultural cities in China, With a history of over 2500 years, the capital of Northern Wei (386~534) for 96 years, and the second capital of Liao (916~1125) and Jin (1115~1234).

Datong was the political, economic and military center of ancient North China. The nice attractions are Yungang Grottoes, Hanging Temple, Mountain Hengshan, Datong Great Wall. and some sights as Shanhua Temple, Huayan Temple, Datong City Wall, Nine Dragon Screen Wall in the downtown, and the Wooden Pagoda at Yinxiang County etc.
