Mianshan-Most beautiful highlight nearby Pingyao

Many tourists asked me, which highligts is worth to visit when I am in Pingyao. There are many highlights around Pingyao.

At Taiyuan direction

–Jinci Temple is 100km far from Pingyao (2 hours to see)

–Qiao Family Compound is 45km far from Pingyao. (2 hours to see)

–Zhenguo Temple is 18km far from Pingyao (40 minutes to see)

At Xi’an direction

–Shuanglin Temple is 8km far from Pingyao (1 hours to see)

–Zhangbi underground Castle is 40km far from Pingyao (2 hours to see)

–Mianshan is 60km far from Pingyao(6-7 hours to see the main sights)

–Wang Family Compound is 55km far from Pingyao (2 hours to visit)

Day Trip around Pingyao

Jinci temple and Qiao Family Compound can be a day trip,

Qiao Family Compound and Zhenguo Temple can be 6 hours trip

Mianshan can be a day trip around 6-7 hours

Wang Family Compound, Zhangbi Underground Castle and Shuanglin Temple Can be a day trip.

Mianshan Tour from Pingyao

Mianshan is 60km far from Pingyao, there is no direct bus to Mianshan. For saving the time, we usually hire the private taxi and driver for our guest.

Need 1 hour driving, arrive at Mianshan Tourist Center, need to get the entrance tickets and mountain bus tickets (110+50)

Take the bus up to the mountain and visit the highlights one by one.

Overview

Mianshan is famous for the guy named Jiezitui who cut his flesh from his leg for the emperor in Jin, which is 2000 years ago.

It contains the nature beauty and ancient architectures such as temples, I don’t know how to use the correct words to discribe, just see the pictures.
